52 things – week 23

52 things in 52 weeksAnother week has passed, and it’s been another busy one! Tadpole had his Primary 1 induction day, ready for him to start the class after the summer holidays, he got his nursery school report (very positive!), and we had our 20 week scan (although we were just a day shy of 21 weeks). Tadpole was very excited at seeing Button on screen again, and when Button wasn’t moving into the required position, he leaned right into my belly and said, “Button, do as you’re told!” Perfect Big Brother material! He also came up to me and whispered in my ear, “Mummy, are you alright?” – such a caring, sweet boy, to be looking out for his Mummy! As Button didn’t play ball, we have to go back in another week or so to complete the anomoly checks but everything looks good.

Next week will also be busy as Tadpole has a school trip and I’ll be going along with him. Lots to look forward to! In the meantime, here’s my weekly challenge update…

1. Read 52 books in 52 weeks (39/52)

Finished: Laura Ingalls Wilder – On the Banks of Plum Creek (Little House #3)
Finished: Jane Austen – Persuasion (Kindle e-book)
Reading: Marie Mongan – HypnoBirthing: The Mongan Method: A Natural Approach to Safe, Easier, More Comfortable Birthing
Reading: Amanda Grange – Captain Wentworth’s Diary (Kindle e-book)

4. Read only books that I already have, have been given as gifts/to review, or have borrowed from the library for 52 weeks (23/52)
Another week has passed without me buying any new books for myself, although I did download a couple of free e-books. Not a single penny spent!

6. Read 6 pre-WWII classics (5/6)
Finished: Laura Ingalls Wilder – On the Banks of Plum Creek (Little House #3)
Finished: Jane Austen – Persuasion (Kindle e-book)

Film and Television:
7. Watch 52 films in 52 weeks (36/52)
Watched: Stoker (2013)
Watched: Bullet To the Head (2013)

9. Watch 12 films that are newly released in 2013 (11/12)
Watched: Stoker (2013)
Watched: Bullet To the Head (2013)

Food and drink:
37. Try one food I’ve never tasted before every month (6/12)
This month I tried pak choi for the first time – I threw some into a stir fry. Very nice, so I’ll certainly have it again.
So far I have tried:

  • January – Avocado
  • February – Sea bass
  • March – Asparagus
  • April – Passion fruit
  • May – Green smoothies
  • June – Pak choi

38. Eat only vegetarian meals one day every week (23/52)
Vegetarian day: Wednesday

45. Save all £2 coins for 52 weeks (23/52)
Total saved in £2 coins: £64.00

46. Save all 1p/2p/5p coins for 52 weeks (23/52)
Total 5p pieces saved: £12.35
All coppers have gone directly into Tadpole’s piggy bank.

50. Self portrait picture every week (23/52)
Another very special self portrait this week – an internal one! This is the clearest shot we got of Button at our scan last Friday – a lovely profile. Judging by the button nose, long top lip, and determined little chin jutting out, we reckon Button will be a little Tadpole doppelganger. Hubby is convinced Button is a boy because of this. I’m still not decided.  I guess we’ll see when the time comes! Anywa, here’s out little Button, getting bigger by the day and looking more and more like his/her Big Brother!

23. Week 23 - 07.06.13
Week 23
Button at 20 weeks + 6 days

51. Post a weekly update of my progress on my blog (23/52)
