52 things – week 22

52 things in 52 weeksThe weather has been hotting up here and it’s finally starting to look a little more like summer More picnics in the garden or the park, and more melting for me! You see, I’m more of a colder weather person and I don’t do particularly well in the heat. Especially while pregnant! Still, it’s nice to be able to eat outside and get a little sun on my skin, and Tadpole certainly enjoys being outdoors as much as possible, so that makes him a very happy bunny indeed!

Anyway, here’s a quick update on my challenge progress…

1. Read 52 books in 52 weeks (37/52)

Finished – Krampus: The Yule Lord
Reading – Marie Mongan – HypnoBirthing: The Mongan Method: A Natural Approach to Safe, Easier, More Comfortable Birthing
Reading – Laura Ingalls Wilder – On the Banks of Plum Creek (Little House #3)
Reading – Jane Austen – Persuasion (Kindle e-book)

4. Read only books that I already have, have been given as gifts/to review, or have borrowed from the library for 52 weeks (22/52)
Still on the straight and narrow!

46. Save all 1p/2p/5p coins for 52 weeks (22/52)
Total 5p pieces saved: £12.20
All coppers have gone directly into Tadpole’s piggy bank.

50. Self portrait picture every week (22/52)
Seeing as how Button is now past the half-baked point, I’ve started boning up on stuff ready for the birth. I know, it’s still a long way off, but it doesn’t hurt to be prepared, does it? I dug out my old HypnoBirthing book from when I was pregnant with Tadpole. I never got my drug-free natural water birth last time round as Tadpole was in distress and I was running a high temperature because of an infection (not to mention being exhausted after 4 days of labour) so we ended up with an emergency c-section. However, I did use a lot of the HypnoBirthing philosophy to get me through those 4 days before they had to slice me open and it really helped a lot.  I’m also incredibly pleased to hear that our own Princess Kate is planning on a HypnoBirth, so I’ll be in Royal company! Anyway, here’s me with my book…
