Like many families, we watched the Olympics, which were held in London this summer. We weren’t lucky enough to see any of the events first-hand, but we saw as much as we could of the action on TV. Tadpole was particularly interested in the gymnastics and ever since then he has constantly talked about them. In particular he liked the rings and is very keen to give them a try.
Of course, we were delighted he wanted to get into something sporty, and I started looking into local pre-school gymnastics classes. Unfortunately there aren’t any at the moment, but we put Tadpole’s name down on the waiting list for when they start up again.
When I received an email to tell me they were training up some new kinder gym instructors who needed volunteers for a final assessment class, we jumped at the chance, and went along for one of the sessions this afternoon.
Tadpole enjoyed it so much he asked if he could stay for a second session (they were short on kids so they were happy for him to do that).
Tadpole had a great time running, jumping, climbing, rolling, swinging and doing all manner of fun things and says he would love to go to more classes. Fingers crossed these instructors pass with flying colours and the classes start up very soon!
